WE MADE IT!!!!!
At this point there are no more assignments for any of my classes. If you have anything that has not been handed in yet, you have until Midnight Monday to do so or I won't be accepting it as I need to have my marks handed for report cards. Have a great summer!!! Please check your Google Classrooms for your assignments this week....
SCIENCES 9 - This week you will be creating a Mitosis and Meiosis stop motion movie to complete our unit on cellular reproduction. Details are in our classroom. SCIENCES 8 - This week you are wrapping up with a fun activity - the oh so famous Egg Drop! Check out the details in our classroom. MATH 8 - This week we finish up our Area and Volume unit with a model project where you will calculate the area and volume of your creation. More details in our classroom. 3 weeks! That's all we have left! This whole online learning has flown by but don't worry because we are on the home stretch now. COVID regulations are slowly loosening up and hopefully we can get back to something close to normal.
SCIENCES 8 - This week we have our Chapter 6 test on all things to do with vision on Tuesday. You can use your notes and everything on it. Hopefully this will be a nice way to bump everyone's marks up. If you haven't gotten your eye disorder projects in, they're late! Get them in asap please! Wednesday I will put out some notes and a slide show for you to read through and get comfortable with the material. We are entering into a unit on plate tectonics, earthquakes, tsunami's the formation of the Earth's crust etc. This will get you ready for your last assignment that I'm collecting for marks the following week. During our last week of class we will have an egg drop challenge to wrap things up on a fun note! Check our Google classroom for your test Tuesday morning. SCIENCES 9 - This week we continue our biology unit. We have 2 sections left. The first part is asexual reproduction and the second is mitosis and meiosis. We will have a series of notes for you to go over this week and a quiz on asexual reproduction Thursday. I'll be available for a zoom Wednesday from 10-11am to help clarify anything that comes up prior to the quiz and I'll post the link to that Wednesday morning in our classroom. Our last project of the year will be a stop motion assignment that shows the differences of mitosis and meiosis and we will discuss the pros and cons of asexual and sexual reproduction. MATH 8 - We have come to our last section of Math 8 - Area and Volume. This section is not very difficult but involves being able to use formulas to help solve the area and volume of 3 main shapes (cylindres, rectangular and triangular prisms). This week we will look at the different formulas for Area and Volume and have a small quiz Friday to make sure that you're getting how to plug the numbers in to solve for the area and volume of those shapes. Feel free to use your notes to help you on the quiz....all I care about is that you can figure out the calculations. Next week you will embark on your final project of building a 3D object out of paper or something else that you will need to calculate the area and volume of it. This project will be handed in as a replacement of doing a test for these two chapters. |
