*** TODAY WE CELEBRATED THE TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION DAY *** SCIENCES 8 - Day to work on our 3D cells and review for next week's Chapter 1 test (Tuesday) SCIENCES 10 - Today we helped build a "Witnes Blanket" as a school-wide activity for the Truth and Reconciliation day. LEADERSHIP
- Today was our Terry Fox Run/Walk for our group! Friday is the last day to bring in Toonies for Terry! - We will be assembling indiginous medicine pouches to be distributed throughout the district this Friday? SCIENCES 8 - Today we wrapped up our notes on Chapter 1 looking at diffusion and osmosis. We will continue to work on our 3D cells tomorrow (due Friday) and then we will be doing review to get ready for our first chapter test on Chapter 1 next Tuesday!
SCIENCES 8 - Today we looked at our Science Fair projects and wrapped up some assignments that needed catching up on. SCIENCES 10
- Today we spent the day looking at how to balance equations in chemistry LEADERSHIP - Today we wrapped up our movie Cool Runnings (Questions will be done in class Tuesday) - We also set up for next week's Truth and Reconciliation day by hanging up "Every Child Matters" hearts around the school and more.
SCIENCES 8
- Today we wrote our quiz on the parts and functions of the microscope. We then followed that up with an introduction to cells, and our 3D cell model project that we will start tomorrow. SCIENCES 10 - Today we went over our labs on ionic compounds from the other day. We also spent quite a bit of time reviewing ionic and covalent formulas and naming. *** Quiz on knowing the difference between ionic and covalent compounds and how to name ionic compounds tomorrow! LEADERSHIP - Today we played around with the idea of having a very limited volcabulary. Students were asked to narrow their vocab down to only 6 words and then to see if they could still have a logical conversation. This lead into a talk about troubles communicating in a foreign country and how to get around things and the difficulty of facial expressions with masks. We then spent the rest of class working on our quote assignments which are now due Friday rather than tomorrow.
SCIENCES 8 - Today we got to explore microscopes and learned how to do a scientific drawing *** Quiz on the parts and functions of the microscope Wednesday SCIENCES 10
- Today we wrapped up our lab reports from Friday and continued to work on naming ionic compounds including multivalent and polyatomic compounds. LEADERSHIP - We worked on our Quote Assignments, did a journal entry on "What do we want to be remembered by?" and had a chat about perspective. *** Quote posters are due Thursday LEADERSHIP - Terry Fox classroom visits - Time to wrap up the kites / start on the Leadership Quote Assignment (Google Classroom) SCIENCES 10 - Ionic compounds lab *** Quiz Monday (elements, Bohr and Lewis diagrams for elements and compounds) SCIENCES 8 - Today we covered cell theory, bacteria and viruses and then we had fun with our Science Break Out activity! SCIENCES 8
- Today we jumped into Chapter 1 and looked at the basics of cells and the microscope SCIENCES 10 - Today we reviewed Bohr and Lewis diagrams and then took a better look at naming and forming ionic compounds including multivalent and polyatimic compounds. *** Lab tomorrow and then covalent compounds Monday and a quiz on the parts of the periodic table including Bohr and Lewis diagrams. LEADERSHIP - Today we worked on our kites as they're due tomorrow (we extended the deadline) and we tidied up the Terry Fox Run items so that we can present to classes tomorrow and finally we wrapped up with some Minute-To-Win-It games. SCIENCES 8
Today we had our Gum lab and we looked at the scientific method. |
